Tips

  • The export is the handover point. Anything corrected after it has to be corrected in the payroll system too.
  • In the CSV, each line is dated the day it was worked.
  • With Xero connected, a pay run can also be sent to Xero Payroll from its row.
  • On-call allowances from the on-call roster are part of every pay run.
  • Where your practice pays overtime (Settings, then Attendance rules), the hours past a day's or a week's ordinary hours are on lines of their own, such as Overtime — past 10 hours that day, at the Saturday rate, taken out of the hours they were worked in. Sent to Xero, they go on that rate's own earnings rate.
  • A shift across a daylight-saving change is paid and billed for the time that passed — an hour less on the October night the clocks go forward, an hour more on the April night they go back.
  • A sleepover is measured on the clock, so 22:00 to 06:00 is its 8 hours on both nights; on the April night its extra hour is paid as worked time at that early Sunday's rate, on its own line.
